i like it a lot that u can see just the shadow of this animal, but exactly this also scars me a little bit, because it looks some kind of mysterious... i hope u know what i mean..
!!! I love this picture!!! :thumb67420805: Part of the reason, of course, is that I'm obsessed with squid and octopuses, but it's also very well-executed. You do beautiful colorwork in your paintings, but the grayscale silhouette has a different, dramatic effect. The clouds (as always) are very realistic, and the veiled sun heightens the contrast and makes the silhouetted shapes stand out more. That said, the image still retains a dreamlike, misty quality that makes it more fantastical. I'm in love with the 'Deep Blue Sky' concept as a whole. Anyone depicting sea creatures swimming through the sky is guaranteed to have my approval, especially if they can also tell the difference between a squid and an octopus ^_^
thanks so much. with this theme it would have been easy to do lots of blue skies with fluffy clouds, but that would get boring fast. at first glance it seems like the aircraft and the sea life are the two main objects, but i have more fun painting the skies on these than anything. so this piece is a counterpoint to the more saturated and cleary depicted sunny pieces. on the whole i think it is important to have a lot of variety across a simple idea. thanks for writing such detailed comments, i really appreciate it.
